I have been in NYC for 2 weeks. It feels like I have been here forever, in a good way! In two weeks, I have been interning at two different places. I have news....So I interviewed for a PR position in a design house. But I didn't get it. HOWEVER, I got an offer from the design assistant to intern with her. Apparently, I was SO AWESOME in my interview she sent my resume and her recommendation to her co-workers. Which led to an offer. Instead of a PR position, I was offered an internship with the design assistant. I get to work with the designer and the assistant!!! I AM SO PUMPED!!!! In other words, I need to quit my job I have here which is going to suck because I enjoy everything I do at my current workplace...I don't want to tell them either...But I must...I AM STOKED!!!!! I also finally had a chance to try Dallas BBQ. I feel obese and I feel the zits about to form. I need to cut back on eating, the way I do, especially since I'm not part of gym...either way I got to hang out with my favorite flower named friend. So all in all this day has been crazy cool.

Saturday, August 13 - August 14, 2011
Last week was interesting reflecting on it now. I saw my breaking point and I am over it. Come what may no? I got to hang out with my BEST FRIEND for the day. We went to this awesome pizza place called 'Artichoke' in the East Village. I had artichoke and spinach pizza. WHICH WAS DELICIOUS! I never thought I would be a fan of artichoke but now I am.
We went to this local flea market, but it wasn't like those flea markets where everyone sells the same thing. Instead it was people's junk. I got this cool bracelet.
Which was complimented/admired at double RL by all these sick dressed shopkeepers. So we ended up in some weird area with all these cool men's stores. We hit up the Strand and I bought a couple of books. I am hooked on Ray Bradbury. I just finished his "The Illustrated Man" which is a collection of stories told through one overarching story. I bought Bradybury's "Farewell Summer" and Roberto Bolano's "The Savage Detectives".
Then Sunday was a lazzzyyyyy sunday. It was down-pouring so I stayed in and did work a.k.a sleep, watch tv shows, finish reading my book, and sleeping some more....
to a new week!

Sunday, August 9- Friday, August 12, 2011
(I need to start posting pictures... I'm too lazy to carry around my camera since it's big....Nikon D80...) Monday was my new start at a fancy building right around the corner from the old internship. No joke, it is literally right around the corner. But my building has TONS of other brands; Tommy Hilfiger, Ports, Derek Lam, and Raoul. That's just on my floor too. There was a model casting call today and all these models were roaming around. Making me feel ugly. ahhahahaahha. But it was a great week. There is more duties here than at the previous place. I may be an intern but I do bring in results and whatnot. I think the other place just didn't realize the potential/abilities I or other interns have. Then again I don't really count as a ditzy 19/20 y.o. that "loves" fashion. I'm the college grad who knows how to research and write papers that just moved onto another path. Which I feel I had/have to do. It just feels right. So far, I'm glad that I did. I actually had another interview on Thursday for a fashion house that I have a feeling is going to be BIG. But I don't find out if I got the internship until next friday... The interview went super well and the person was like I'll be sure to let you know Friday. Apparently if this PR firm picks this studio up then they will have staff supplied. But if not then they'll be needing people. SOOOO...
Anyways it's the weekend and time for me to roam NYC with my partner in crime, Z.

Monday, August 1-Friday, August 5
I know I haven't been keeping up with this. But in my defense, my apartment didn't get internet until literally a couple of days ago. Also, I haven't really lived at my place. I've been working like a madman. So heres the work side of this week...
I started Monday and as exhausting as it was I LOVED IT! Although all I did was run errands, check in samples, and other menial task. I was doing things that I really do find interesting. To see the behind the scenes was incredible. In 4 days I worked more than 40+hours. For a person who, just a week before was sleeping in until 10 a.m. and going to bed at 4 a.m. thats something. no? I worked a tradeshow (cleaning up) but it was a lot of fun. At some moments I wondered how long it would take me to get a real job...
I was in this dilemma whether or not to stay with the place I was working at or to move to a different firm. In my mind, I just don't want to make the wrong decision and regret it. But I received some enlightening advice from a couple of good friends. It goes something like, "In the end, the internship doesn't matter. It's who you meet along the way." and "In the long run YOU make the most of the internship." Both statements are true not only for internships but with life's difficult questions. I'm scared that my dreams won't come true (sounds like a crappy line) and I'll have to resort to working a job that I dislike. Even talking to my dad, he asked me why I don't work for J.P. Morgan (or someplace similar). I told him what I've been doing for the past week makes me happy. The only other time I've felt like this is when I play rugby/tennis/golf/snowboard/run, do ceramics, meet people, and travel. I almost feel as though I belong. Actually, scratch that. I feel like I belong.
ALSO! Celebrating Klumsy's bday tonight aka hanging out with really good friends in the Big A(ss because it smells like one). Each city has a unique smell....So if you see a group of excited and goofy kids...

Does seeing about 10+ rats in two days, one without a tail, and a shoe, with what I thought was a puddle of water but ended up being a pool of blood make me a true New Yorker now? No? I guess I haven;t been mugged yet...(knock on wood)
